Meet Jake.

I've known Jake almost 10 years.
How'd we meet?
When Ink'd first opened, we had retail hours. I mean 9a-9p 6 days a week and 12p-6p Sunday retail hours.
Who worked most of them? Yep, you guessed it, me.Â
I had to be in the store, every time someone came in it was exciting and I was learning a new business, retail sales. Remember, the original idea for Ink'd Stores was a chain of print on demand retail stores, so working the floor, being with the customer meant everything.Â
One Friday evening, probably around 8p, it was late, in he walks.
And Jake isn't a normal client, he's a designer. And not any designer, but an industrial designer.Â
I've come to learn, Industrial Designers are very specific people.
He didn't have anything to print (yet) but he had questions. We chatted for about 30 minutes and we made an appointment for him to come back and have a few shirts made.Â
What he came back with was epic.Â
Turns out, a guy he works with doodles.Â
But not just any doodles, no, he makes these works of art like doodles.
And the team wanted to show up wearing his doodles on a tee shirt.
So we made them.Â
And a friendship was born, Jake & Jay, almost 10-years later, out of a tee shirt shop printing doodle shirts.
